Whether we think of work as Freedom, entwined with our identity, or as Fulfillment of our individual passions; as a necessary Curse or a way of Caring for each other, the evolution of human labour has shaped everything from personal well-being to societal progress.
So ask yourself: Why do you work?

Academics at the Centre for Industrial Relations and Human Resources (CIRHR) have been researching the world of work for over 50 years. CIRHR, and interdisciplinary forum for labour, business, government and scholars that, with Woodsworth College, offers Undergraduate, Certificate, Masters and PhD programs at the University of Toronto.
This exhibit is presented in celebration of CIRHR's research, teaching, scholarly work, and contributions to public policy on subjects as varied and wide as: public sector strikes, wage and price controls, divergent trade union membership between Canada and the U.S., pay and employment equity, retirement, work sharing, employee voice, minimum wage debates, participative management, high performance/commitment human resources management and employment and labour law.
